PCC Climate Solutions Project Fund: (updated April 2024)

Purpose: “To support graduate students engaged in the Program on Climate Change in applying their climate-science knowledge to solutions-based projects, capstone programs, and outreach efforts with community organizations and partners to help them gain experience outside academia”

The PCC is accepting proposals from graduate students engaged in the PCC for “Climate Solutions Projects” that either help them gain experience outside academia while applying their climate-science knowledge to solutions-based projects that benefit a community, or that communicate climate change related information to broad audiences. • Training opportunities for graduate students on how to effectively work and communicate with communities (e.g., travel to workshops, fees for online trainings)
  • Expenses associated with publishing student community-based projects, e.g., journal publication fees, bringing in expertise to create a podcast or to create open access educational materials.
  • Travel related expenses to conduct projects.
  • Travel expenses to present outcomes of community-based climate solutions projects at meetings, conferences, or workshops hosted by the focus community.

Eligibility: Currently matriculated students in a graduate program at the UW who are working on a community-based project related to climate science or climate solutions.
