I am a physical oceanographer focusing on understanding and predicting changes in the ocean environment and marine ecosystems across a range of spatial and temporal scales. My research examines how ocean circulation, stratification, and air–sea-ice interactions shape physical conditions that influence marine ecosystem dynamics. A primary tool in my work is ocean hydrodynamic modeling, which I use to investigate ocean processes, interpret observations, and project how the ocean may respond to environmental variability and climate change. By combining numerical models with observational data, I aim to improve our ability to diagnose past changes and anticipate future shifts.
