I am a graduate student in both the Environmental and Forest Sciences & Astrobiology, where my research focuses on the plant microbiome under abiotic stress, such as the frequency and intensity of uncharacteristic heat events. My work combines field, microbiology, and bioinformatics techniques to try to characterize the endophytic community of Populus trees in Washington State, identifying bacteria that are beneficial to the plant. I previously received my B.S. in Biology from California State University Monterey Bay.
