I am a graduate researcher in fluvial geomorphology at the University of Washington, working with SWITCH (A Shifting Waterway and Its Impacts on Topography and Humans), a research group studying the Nooksack River in Whatcom County, Washington. My work focuses on sediment source-to-sink dynamics in river systems, examining how channel migration, sediment transport, and flood processes drive cascading natural hazards that affect both landscapes and the communities living alongside them. I am broadly interested in how rivers respond to and amplify hazard risk over time, from erosion and channel change to downstream flooding, and how this understanding can inform hazard mitigation and resilience planning. I am also a participant in the Program on Climate Change (PCC), engaging with an interdisciplinary community examining the physical and social dimensions of climate change.
