I am a scientist at the NOAA Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) where I lead a team that contributes significantly to the global implementation of OneArgo (https://argo.ucsd.edu/oneargo/). I study marine biogeochemistry and carbon cycle feedbacks to better understand the ocean’s role in global climate (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=CDXvxE8AAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao). I am involved in projects that range from local to global in scale and that span seasons to decades in time. The research from my group leverages observations from autonomous platforms, ships, and satellites, often in combination with ocean data products and model output. We also focus on the development of software tools, 4D gridded ocean data products, and novel data analysis techniques to advance the accessibility of, and use cases for, Argo data.

While at the UW, I earned a Master’s Degree (2010) and PhD (2014) in Oceanography working with Dr. Christopher Sabine (formerly at PMEL). I was an active member of the PCC, earning a graduate certificate in Climate Science in 2009 and serving on the Graduate Climate Conference Organizing Committee in 2010. I was also the PCC Graduate Student Representative from 2010-2011. For my PCC Capstone project, I developed a course for the Washington State University Extension Carbon Masters Program with co-PCCers Drs. Kirsten Feifel and Alyssa Atwood. The PCC played a large role in my scientific development while at UW by facilitating regular interactions with students, postdocs, and faculty across climate science disciplines.
