4th Annual Spring Symposium: A Virtual Experience in 2020
For the past 3 years, the Program on Climate Change has held a Spring Symposium, a one day, informal conference where the PCC community has an opportunity to present their work to other UW PCC members. This event has been an important way PCC has fostered interdisciplinary connections across the UW climate community.
In crazy times like these, we think it is more important than ever to build and connect the PCC community. While the Spring Symposium will not be possible this year, we want to offer an alternative way to stay connected and hear about the exciting climate research occurring across campus. The Program on Climate Change is hosting a virtual speaker series on Tuesdays from 3-4 pm, and the first will be on May 5th, 2020.
See list of speakers here.
The goal of this series is to bring together students and early career researchers across UW who are interested in climate from a variety of different angles.
We welcome short talks (10-15 minutes), and we aim to host 3 talks each Tuesday, followed by Q&A. We will additionally reserve a few Tuesdays for capstone project presentations, which will span the full hour. If you are interested in giving a talk, please fill out the attached survey as soon as possible. We encourage talks of any theme on research at any stage of completion, as well as presentations on capstone projects and non-capstone outreach. If you are interested in speaking, please fill out this survey.
All are encouraged to virtually join us to hear from the speakers on their research. Please use the following recurring Zoom link to join the meeting:
