The Program on Climate Change Graduate Steering Committee (P-GraSC) is excited to launch the Peer Interdisciplinary Climate Lab (i.e., PICL). This is a new peer community for PCC-affiliated/interested graduate students and postdocs working on climate-related research.

What is PICL?

PICL is a cohort-based group (up to 20 participants) that will meet once per quarter to share in-progress research, build cross-disciplinary connections, and sharpen communication skills. This year’s theme is Climate Solutions, encompassing research projects that range from atmospheric dynamics to policy frameworks to health and food systems. This theme is intentionally broad to recruit members from diverse, cross-disciplinary fields, while providing a foundational common ground for the cohort.

What to expect each quarter:

• A 1-hour session with 4 participants from the cohort giving 5-minute presentations on in-progress research framed around climate solutions.
• 40 minutes of structured discussion focused on interdisciplinary connections, real-world applications, and constructive feedback.
• The same cohort meets together throughout the year, so you can track progress, revisit ideas, and build deeper collaborations over time.
• Food and drink will be provided!

Who should apply?

Graduate students or postdoctoral scholars from any department who are interested in climate research are welcome to apply. Cohorts will be formed with attention to disciplinary diversity, thematic alignment, and scheduling availability.
