I’m a marine and environmental policy researcher and science communicator, holding a Master of Marine Affairs and a Graduate Certificate in Climate Science from the University of Washington. My work sits at the intersection of marine science, environmental policy, and public engagement, with a particular interest in how emerging scientific tools and data can be translated into sound governance — including my research on how environmental DNA (eDNA) methods fit within existing legal frameworks like the Endangered Species Act. I pursued this work in the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs, advised by Ryan Kelly, whose eDNA research helped shape my focus on the regulatory questions these new tools raise. My connection to the Program on Climate Change comes through the Graduate Certificate in Climate Science, which deepened my view of climate as an interdisciplinary, communication-driven challenge and reinforced my commitment to making climate science accessible to broader audiences.
