$1.5M donation transforms interdisciplinary research at the Program on Climate Change

The Program on Climate Change is expanding interdisciplinary climate science research efforts across the University thanks to the recent generous donation from Professors William Calvin and Katherine Graubard.

This strengthened commitment to the Graubard Fellowship enhances the College of the Environment’s ability to recruit top PhD students by giving fellows the flexibility to pursue interdisciplinary collaborations and define their own research projects. It also supports senior PhD students nearing graduation. Additionally this donation provides renewed commitment to the Climate Science Research Acceleration Program.

Beyond supporting these existing programs, this milestone contribution allows the Program on Climate Change to expand its reach. We are thrilled to announce an all-new Postdoctoral Fellowship within the Program on Climate Change! This new initiative allows us to recruit some of the world’s best postdoctoral fellows within the broad scientific themes of climate dynamics and climate solutions. The PCC Postdoc Program will be seeking applications starting later this winter.

Bill and Katherine are visionary partners dedicated to empowering the next generation of scientific leaders and deepening our understanding of climate challenges. We thank them for this generous gift and continued support, which will help drive the Program on Climate Change to new accomplishments in the years ahead.
